Kelly Mitchell Gebert Jr.

November 11, 1988 - November 3, 2025

Kelly Mitchell Gebert Jr., a beloved husband, father, brother, and son departed this earth and was welcomed by his Savior, Jesus Christ, November 3, 2025.

Kelly was born on November 11, 1988, to Kelly Gebert Sr. and Beth Gebert in Westerville, Ohio.

As the second born of eight children, Kelly naturally developed a heart for leadership, expressed early through Boy Scouts, paper routes, and TeenPact, and later carried into adulthood at The King’s College in New York City, where he earned his degree in Finance and Business Management.

Upon graduation, Kelly fell in love with Jacci, and the two were married in September 2015. Shortly thereafter, they relocated to Bexley, Ohio, where Kelly continued his career in real estate private equity. While he found great success in his profession, his greatest accomplishment was found in the births of his daughters, Palmer (September 2020) and Kit (September 2024).

Kelly loved attending concerts, exploring new restaurants, walking and biking through the city, camping with friends, traveling, and was an active participant in his church community.  He was a hardworking, generous man, and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife, Jacci Gebert (Feret), and their daughters, Palmer and Kit; his grandmother, Helen Ludwig; his parents, Kelly Sr. and Beth Gebert; his siblings, Samantha (Jared) Burtner, Grace (Nelson) Munoz, Sophia (Benj) Thomsen, Lucia (Sam) Overla, R. Joseph (Paige) Gebert, and George Gebert (fiancée Emily Pauly); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and dear friends.

Visiting hours will be held at Moreland Funeral Home (55 E. Schrock Rd., Westerville, OH) Wednesday, November 12, from 5:00–7:00 p.m.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday November 13, at 10:00 a.m. at Hope Church (75 E. Schrock Rd., Westerville, OH 43081). All are welcome to attend and honor Kelly’s life.

In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to the GoFundMe established to support the Gebert girls.

Kelly Jr was a friendly, funny, and driven man. He had the kind of personality that drew a crowd wherever he went and his humor would shine through at the most random times. I remember when he chose to staunchly defend the merits of certain cheeses when making a cheeseburger in debate club. His driven nature was evident even as a young man but as he grew older, and that nature brought him great success, he never forgot his family, his friends, or who he was. He also strongly believed in God as his Savior and the merits of our country. Kelly and I last spoke over a holiday break where we randomly met at a deli in German Village; he was just as friendly as he always was and we got to catch up on all our life events. I had a great respect for him and I will miss him.
