Kelly Lynn Gibbons passed away Jan. 9, 2023, at Riverside Hospital Kobacker House following an illness of several months. Kelly was born Dec. 17, 1966, in Columbus, the daughter of Bonnie Townsend and Michael Gibbons (deceased). Kelly loved and was relished by family and her many friends. She was curious, creative, spunky, and affectionate, and she was a tremendous listener. She enjoyed travel, fashion, art, and her deceased dog Bailey and her mothers and stepfathers dog, Lucy. And she found great fulfillment in her work and joy with her co-workers at Riverside Hospital for 25 years.

Kelly is survived by her mother, Bonnie; stepfather, Sidney Townsend; sister, Michelle Gibbons (and husband, Scott) Smith; stepmother, Charlotte Gibbons; nephews, Caleb (and wife, Elizabeth) Smith, Eliah Smith, and Noah Smith; nieces, Melody Makula and Julia (Gideon) Day; stepbrothers and stepsisters, Curt (Heather) Cooper, Chad (Tammie) Cooper, Dudley Townsend, Eric Townsend (deceased), Danielle (Billy) Keaton, Marge (Steve) Johnson, and Carmen (Don) Townsend-Potts; one very special great-nephew, Roen Michael Smith; and many stepnephews and stepnieces.

Viewings will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday (Jan. 13) and 10 a.m.-noon Saturday at Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, OH 43081. The funeral service will be held at noon Saturday at Moreland, officiated by the Rev. John Lieb. Memorial donations can be made to your favorite charity in Kellys name.

Condolences

Teresa Maselli-Robbins - Jan 14, 2023

My sweet Kelly, I will forever cherish the memories (and there are many), from High School- getting in trouble for talking to much, to our baton twirling days, our Buckeye Lake getaways, confiding in each other about boys that we had crushes on and so many more. Dearest Bonnie, Sid & Chelle; I can’t even imagine the pain you must feel right now. Take comfort in knowing we will all see her again. My deepest condolences to you and the rest of those that loved Kelly. Blessed are those that are grieving, for they will be comforted by our Savior Lord Jesus Christ. Mathew 5:4

Niki King - Jan 12, 2023

Our hearts and thoughts are with you. We love you.

Deb - Jan 12, 2023

I was shocked to hear of Kelly's passing. I worked with her at Riverside back in 2014-15. Always so kind and lived her job. Sending thoughts and prayers to her family.

Danette Lehman - Jan 11, 2023

I am so sorry to hear of Kelly's passing. I worked with Kelly at OhioHealth through her nearly one year medical leave. We spoke frequently. She always remained positive and was definitely a fighter. My heart is heavy. My prayers are with her family and may time and love bring peace.
