Kathryn June Earls, 59, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025, after a courageous four-year battle with breast cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 18, 1965, Kathryn was the beloved daughter of the late Roger Felty and Patricia Fitzgerald Felty. A 1983 graduate of Thomas Worthington High School and a 1993 graduate of The Ohio State University, retiring as the administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Ohio Wesleyan University. Kathryn's professional life reflected her dedication to care, organization, and community.

A passionate animal lover and devoted dog rescuer, Kathryn was known for her big heart and generous spirit, always opening her home to those in need. She found joy in the simple wonders of life: tending her garden, watching birds, and cherishing time in nature. A proud Pittsburgh Steelers fan and lifelong Disney enthusiast, Kathryn brought light, laughter, and a sense of magic to every room she entered.

She was known for her unwavering optimism, kindness, and gift for making others feel seen and valued. A talented planner and warm presence, she created spaces of comfort and joy for all who knew her.

Kathryn survived by her beloved husband, Carl Earls, and their son, Cody Earls. She is also survived by her sister, Katie (Ken) Lippincott; brothers Terry Bowman and Scott (Divinia) Bowman; sisters-in-law Laneisa (Mark) Lambert and Jennifer Castillo; aunt Kay (Geoff) Steele; uncle Bob Westfall; mother-in-law Joanne Earls cousins Mike and Mollie Fitzgerald, Zack and Andy Steele; and nieces and nephews Nathan, Anna, Jessie, Brittney, Belinda, Zach, and Ian.

She was preceded in death by son Carl Earls III, Roger Felty, Patricia Felty, Helene (Pat) Felty, Carl Earls Sr., and Kathryn L. Felty. Kathryn's legacy is one of selfless love, kindness, and quiet strength. She touched countless lives and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the joy of knowing her. I was blessed to have worked with Kathy Earls at Ohio Dominican for several years. She was an angel. A bright light that greeted faculty, staff and visitors to the President\'s Office. With her beautiful smile and radiance, always willing to be of help to others. Kathy was a gift; truly one of the finest people I\'ve ever known and she will be deeply missed.

I had the please of working with Kathy for several years at OWU. I haven't seen her since her retirement and it was devestating to hear about her bout with cancer and her passing. She was always very kind to me. I always looked forward to talking to her if I was in her building. My heart is breaking for you all.
