Kathleen Ann Fracasso, born Kathleen "Kathy" Strickfaden, passed away peacefully at home in Johnstown on February 23 , 2024. Born July 15, 1944 to James Strickfaden and Mary Catherine Strickfaden (Leahey). Kathy attended St. Augustine in grammar school and has had many of the same friends since kindergarten. Kathy graduated from Bishop Watterson High School in 1962. Kathy was a cheerleader for all four years, on yearbook staff as well as many other activities. After high school she moved to Miami and became a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines. In 1965 Kathy wed Jerry Lee Hartsough and had three incredible children: Jim Hartsough, Brent Hartsough (Jamie) and Trina Roberts (BJ Lenz).
Kathy decided to return to school and graduated as a registered nurse from Columbus State Community College in 1983. Working and retiring from St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville, Ohio. Kathy had many coworkers that became the best of friends, but Angie Young became more like a daughter. Kathy went on a mission trip to Honduras with Operation Smile in 1992.
In 2009, Kathy married the love of her life, Robert A. Fracasso Sr. who preceded her in death. She gained three wonderful stepchildren: Jennifer Marsee, Rob Fracasso (Melissa) and Suzanne Coombe (Patrick), Barry Adkins (Marybeth). Kathy had many grandchildren and great grandchildren who brought her so much joy!
Kathy has three beautiful sisters, Maryann Strickfaden (Ed), Patty Bishop (Stuart) and Carol Blewitt (Bob) along with many nieces and nephews.
Kathy had an infectious smile that lit up the room. She had a zest for life that kept her fighting through several illnesses, including beating breast cancer. Kathy enjoyed crossing the finish line many years as a survivor at the Race for the Cure with her family.
Kathy was very thoughtful and giving person. In honor of this and in lieu of flowers, if your heart is led please make donations to Bella Care Hospice. Their love and care was so above and beyond.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 29th from 5-8 p.m. at Moreland Funeral Home, Westerville. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, March 1st at 11:00 a.m. at Church of Ascension 555 S. Main St., Johnstown, OH 43031.
