Karen Mitchell, age 76, of Lewis Center, OH. passed away April 16, 2023 at Brookdale Assisted Living of Mount Vernon. Retired from Nationwide Insurance Co.. Attended St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Westerville, OH. She enjoyed her dogs, card making, scrapbooking, gardening, friends and family cook-outs. Survived by her siblings, Patricia Kaiser, Nancy Higgins and Henry Kaiser, II; step-children, Craig, Beth and Scott Mitchell; 2 step-grandchildren; niece, Sarah (Heath) Ratcliff; nephew, Grant (Sarah) Higgins; great-nephews, Ryder, Rylee and Rhett Ratcliff, Andrew and Judd Higgins. Preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Mitchell; parents, Henry and Dorothy Kaiser. Friends may call at the Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Thursday from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. followed by Liturgy of the Word at 1 p.m. Interment Blendon Central Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 313 N. State Street, Westerville, OH 43082 or the Alzheimers Assn., 1379 Dublin Road, Columbus, OH 43215.

Karen has been my friend since she loaded keypunch cards into computer card readers at Nationwide. Loooong time besties. Then in Audit together. Christmas celebrations. Many good times. Darn you, Karey, I’ll have to wait a while to see you again. Love and prayers to the family.

I’m so sorry for your loss! I had dinner with Karen several times and she seemed fine. We spent a lot of time as kids playing in your mother’s beauty shop. I will miss her greatly.
