June B. Jones, age 80, of Columbus, OH passed away December 22, 2015 at St. Ann’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Retired Registered Nurse. Active member of Blendon Senior Center and member of Church of the Messiah United Methodist. June loved to travel and be with her family. Survived by her children, Linda (Jon) Gillespie of London, OH, Lori (Qyn) Bedford of Campbellsville, KY and Kim (Adam) Thomas of Columbus; grandchildren, Ashley (John) Schafer, Ian (Stephanie) Brown, Ryan Gillespie, Corey (Thomas) Brostowski, Nick (Kayla) Neville, Katie (Kyle) Linnemann, Dylan Brown, Megan Gillespie, Jade Thomas and Sadie Thomas; honorary grandchildren, Anna Berry and Nikki Honaker; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Janet (Herb) Head of Gainesville, FL; brother, Larry (Janet) Barker of Bettendorf, IA; many nieces, nephews and special friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Mildred Barker, daughter, Karen Brown and former husband, Willard Jones. Friends may call at MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m., Rev. Fr. Mark Ghiloni, officiating. Private family interment. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Aging Solutions, 174 E. Long Street, Columbus, OH 43215 in her memory.

I knew June almost my whole life. But the most special thing was her trip for my mother’s 80th birthday. My brother and two sisters join me in celebrating her life, and now her rest with the Lord. There are some others among the many Milliken cousins who will be sad to know of her death. Grace and peace…

Kim, you have lost your mom and the girls have lost their grandma right before Christmas. I know first hand what that feels like. Father God, shower Kim with your love and lead her through a healthy grief process. It’s different for everyone. But you know how to tailor it to meet Kim’s needs. Please do that. Raise up a powerful support system for her and her family. I ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
