John Senchishin, age 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at St Ann’s Hospital in Westerville, Ohio. He was born on March 7, 1931 in Ebensburg Pennsylvania. He was a devoted husband to his wife Velma for over 54 years. John was a Korean War veteran who served in the Army Medical Corp as a sergeant and awarded a bronze star. John retired from the Federal Government as a carpenter. He was also a locksmith and clock maker. John was a talented accordion player and loved his polka music. He was always there to help a family member or a neighbor if they had a handyman job. He is survived by his wife Velma; brother, Jim (Rita) Senchishin; brother in law, Edward Vilchinsky (Carol); many nephews and nieces and great-nephews and great-nieces. Family and friends whose lives John touched are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 6899 Smoky Row Road, Columbus, OH 43235 on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 10 a.m. with visitation 1 hour before Mass, Parochial Vicar Nick Ventura, officiating. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Peter Roman Catholic Church.
