John Richard Carroll

John R. Carroll, age 76, of Westerville, Ohio passed away at home Tuesday, September 26, 2023. He was born February 27, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio. Graduate of Linden McKinley High School, class of 1965. Proudly served in the United States Air Force in Korea during the Pueblo Crisis (1967-1968). John retired from Columbus Heating and Ventilating Company. A member of Sheet Metal Workers Local # 98. He was a Christian and loved the Lord. He was a self-taught wood worker and made beautiful wooden pieces including furniture. He could fix anything and everything. John made a lot of friends through his life and loved his family deeply. He never missed his kids and grandkids events, whether it was sports, dance, cheer or whatever they were doing. He cherished spending time with family. Much loved and survived by his wife of 55 years, Donna Carroll; children, Brad (Diane) Carroll, Laura Elliott and Shawn (Erin) Carroll; grandchildren, Britney (Zach), Bryce (Macey), John, Sam, Katy, Jaimie and Annie; great-grandchildren, Bella, Keyton and Hadley; sister-in-law, Carol; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Ike and Ruth Carroll; sisters, Mavie and Donna. The family will greet friends Friday October 20th from 1-3 p.m. at Moreland Funeral Home Westerville Ohio with a memorial service to follow at 3 p.m. Pastor Greg Bondurant and Deborah Countiss Lindsay officiating.
