Joanne Lee (Banbury) Gaumer, age 89 of Westerville, Ohio, passed away on Saturday August 15, 2026, surrounded by family. She was born September 5, 1936 in Mount Vernon, Ohio to Albert and Doris (Workman) Banbury. Raised in Danville, she graduated from Danville High School in 1954.
She was primarily a homemaker, but as her kids grew, she did find a way to turn her passion for caretaking into a job in the home healthcare field. She truly had a gift for taking care of others and was generous with her time and heart.
Anyone who knew her knows that playing the piano was her favorite past time. She never had to see a sheet of music. She just had to hear it one time and out it came, beautifully, via the keys. She was a devout Christian and attended/ volunteered at church regularly for many years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 55 years, Dale and her beloved daughter Patricia in 2001. She is survived by daughters, Susan (Mark) Kelemen of Beavercreek, Beth (Kerry) Hamilton of Granville. Grandchildren Tricia, Todd, Andrea, Sarah, Lindsey, Katie, Kylie and Paige. Numerous great grandchildren as well as her siblings Marilyn, Sally, Sharon and Rick.
Friends may call 11:00am to 12:00pm on Monday, August 24, 2026, at the Moreland Funeral Home, 55 East Schrock Road, Westerville. Burial to follow at Otterbein Cemetery 175 S. Knox St. Westerville.
