Joan Emily White, 81 years old, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully September 16, 2023. She was born in Binghamton, New York to the late Dr. Raymond Scribner McKeeby and Sarah Emily (Foote) McKeeby. Joan graduated from Vestal High School, and attended The State University of New York at Buffalo earning a B.S. in Art Education.

Throughout her life, Joan was fascinated with art of all kinds and brought that creative expression to everything she did. After college she married Karl Oldag and moved to Albion, MI to start a family. In 1971, they moved to Westerville, OH and raised their 4 children in a loving home in Annehurst.

She joined the staff at Annehurst Elementary in the late 70’s where she taught special education for over 30 years. She was a dedicated teacher who helped countless children achieve their goals by providing attentive and understanding care.

She married Jerry White in 1988 who she spent the next 35+ years with in a loving marriage.

She is preceded in death by her father Raymond McKeeby, mother Emily Mckeeby, and sister Gail Moberg. She is survived by her brother Raymond Mckeeby, loving husband Jerry Lee White, her children Jon Oldag, Sarah Delaney (Sean), Jenny Arnold, and Elizabeth West (Shane), her step-children Pam Taylor (Bill), Todd White (Hyo-Yang Ahn) Jodi Breton (Pierre), and Jeri Levy (Michael), and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and caring friends.

Joan was tirelessly devoted to her family, friends, and students, and brought much love to all lives she touched.

Friends may call Thursday, September 21st from 5 pm to 8 pm, and Friday, September 22nd from 10 am to 11 am, with a service immediately following at Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E Schrock Rd, Westerville OH, 43081.

Jon, I was sorry to read about the death of your mother. One of my favorite memories of her was when at a parent conference she told me she put all of your papers in a garbage bag because of your disorganization. That way a paper could be found if needed. She was a special person and teacher.
