James Charles “Jim” Booton, at age 85 passed away quietly at home on Friday, December 3, 2010 in Worthington, Ohio. Jim is now resting in peace with his Savior, Jesus. Born November 26, 1925 to James F. and Vera M. (Hayes) Booton in Columbus, Ohio. Following high school Jim honorably served his country in the Navy in the Pacific Theatre in World War II. Upon his return home he spent many cherished years working for the Singer Sewing Machine Company in Columbus. Later in life he spent 17 years living and working in Memphis, Tennessee, first with Singer then with Shelby County Court Systems. He made many new friends while in Memphis. Upon his return to Columbus, he spent the later years of his life working in his beloved sewing machine business. Jim will be greatly missed by all of his family and many friends who all look forward to reuniting with him in Heaven. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents. Jim is survived by his loving wife Phyllis (Saunders), sons Greg (Page) Booton, Rick (Dani) Graumlich, daughters Cheryl (Harold) Byerly, Linda (Randy) Reed, Crystal (Pete) Kalinke; 15 grandchildren, Nicole Booton, Zachery, Katherine, Rick, Claire and Christian Graumlich, Dessie and Luke Byerly, Jessica (Justin) Rausch, Amanda (Chris) Fetty, Daniel Frey, Sophia, Lily ,Chloe, and Samuel Kalinke; 3 great-grandchildren, Jayda, Jameson, and Irie: sister Barbara Murphy, cousin Lois Crispin, and mother-in-law Viola Carpenter, neices and nephews, and many, many friends. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Monday, December 6th at Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E. Shrock Rd., Westerville, Ohio, 43081. Friends will also be welcomed at Grace Brethren Church, 8225 Worthington-Galena Road, Westerville, Ohio from 9:30-10:30 am on Tuesday, December 7th. The funeral service will follow at the church at 10:30am, Pastor Tim Waggoner. Burial will follow the service at Sunbury Memorial Park, Sunbury Ohio. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mount Carmel Hospice, 1144 Dublin Road, Columbus, OH 43215, Grace Brethren Church, or Gideons International.
