Jim C. “Hero” Ackers, age 85, of Columbus, OH passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015. Jim was a sports enthusists who played semi-pro baseball and was an avid OSU football fan. U.S. Army veteran. Survived by his sister, Ann Buchanan of Westerville; brother, Robert C. (Darlene) Ackers of Tyrone, PA; sister-in-law, Sharon Ackers and brother-in-law, Robert Lough; friend, Jim Savage; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Lula Ackers; brother, Frank, sister, Alice Lough and special aunt, Kathleen Sharp. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Wednesday 11 a.m.-1 p.m. followed by a service at 1 p.m.. Interment Blendon Central Cemetery.
