Jerry R. Compton, 70, of Centerburg, passed away Tuesday November 3, 2015 at home. Retired from Jeld-Wen and farming. Member of Chester Lodge #238 F & AM, Scottish Rite, Valley of Columbus and Evelyn Chapter #146 O.E.S.. Jerry was an avid fan of The Ohio State University Football and Pittsburgh Steelers. Preceded in death by parents, Carl & Marie Compton and brother George Compton. Survived by loving wife of 18 years Judy. Children; Ray (Trina) Compton of Howard, Allen (Dustina Laymon) Compton of Mt. Vernon and Paul (Candy) Compton of Centerburg. Step-children; Scott (Jessica Lombardi) Harmon of Mt. Vernon, Kym Harmon of Michigan and Chris (Angel) Harmon of Mt. Vernon. 8 grandchildren and 7 step-grandchildren. Close family friends Barbara Johnson and Charles Shanafelt. Friends may call at JOHNSON-MELICK-MORELAND FUNERAL HOME 49 West Church Street Centerburg, 5-7 p.m. Friday. Graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday November 7, 2015 at Eastview Cemetery.
