Jenny Reep passed away March 13, 2024, after battling cancer for several years, leaving behind a daughter, grandchildren, family and countless friends to cherish her memory and the many acts of kindness she regularly shared with others throughout her life.
She was born in Columbus on Nov. 28, 1951, to the late William John and Theresa Rose (Ricevuto) Brinkman. She is also preceded in death by ex-husband Jerry A. Reep. She was a proud graduate of DeSales High School, and was thrilled when her daughter, Jessica C. Reep, also graduated from the school. She was a graduate of The Ohio State University and supported all things Buckeye. As a mother, she loved coaching Jessie’s softball teams and tracking all of her other activities. She found great joy in participating in the young lives of her beloved grandchildren, Callie and Jacob Bowman, regularly attending school events, basketball and volleyball games, swim and martial arts lessons, and countless other activities.
She had a long, successful career and retired from CH2M Hill, formerly BBS, and still maintained close connections with former colleagues there. She also maintained longstanding friendships with members of her regular card club, as well as friends from her days at Desales.
Jenny was generous with her time in caring for others and exhibited a strong connection to family, often driving hours to support the activities of family members outside of Columbus. She was always fun to be around and loved to laugh.
Jenny will be dearly missed by brothers William A. (Julie) Brinkman (Toledo) and William (Carla) Porter (Hilliard), and sisters Barbara J. Dowler (Tucson, AZ), JoAnn (James) Yarger (Groveport), Diane (Steve) Hicks (Columbus), Denise Ruddock (Columbus), and Dana (Thom) Coughlin (Columbus). She is also survived by her stepmother, Wilda Brinkman (Porter) of Columbus. Numerous nieces and nephews are also saddened by her passing.
She attended St. James the Less while growing up, but spent the last decades as a loyal member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to The Emmaus Road Scholarship Fund at emmausroadscholarship.org direct donations to either St. Paul Catholic School or St. Francis DeSales High School. Donations can also be in her name to The James Cancer Hospital for cancer research.
Condolences

Jessie, Callie, Jacob, Bill & Julie and boys, so very sorry to hear about the passing of Jenny. She was so courageous in her battle and so very positive. Always enjoyed our conversations - many times at the events of our grandchildren. That was my last conversation with her and she was so proud of you Jacob! Callie she always caught me up on what sport you were doing. Jessie - no words except how extremely proud she was to be your mom. She also loved her little brother and family. God Bless you all as a beautiful light has left this world.
