James Yingling

YINGLING

James D. Yingling, age 91, of Columbus, OH, passed away May 20, 2013 at home. Born March 4, 1922 in Granville, OH, graduated from Granville High School. Joined the U.S. Marines in 1941, served in the South Pacific and Occupied Japan as a member of the 2nd Marine Division, honorably discharged in 1946. Professional golfer and member of the PGA, Southern Ohio Section. Head professional at Indian Run in Westerville and Moundbuilders Country Club in Newark, OH. Became a Real Estate agent with Muirfield Realty and retired after 12 years. He returned to the golf profession where he was employed part-time at Arrowhead Lakes Golf Course for 10 years and various other area golf courses until recently. Survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty; children, James Dennis (Jeannie) Yingling of The Villages, FL, Brenda (Steven) Stern of Powell, OH and Jeffrey D. (Marianna) Yingling of Port Charlotte, FL; grandchildren, Kristin, Trisha, Brad, Jay and Bracken; and two great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be held at MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Friday, June 21, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. with visitation 2 hours before the service. Interment Kingwood Memorial Gardens.
