RICHARDS
James (Richie) Richards, of Westerville, Ohio was born June 1, 1938 in DuBois, Pennsylvania and passed peacefully in his sleep after many years of a hard fought battle of heart failure on May 15, 2017. Richie is preceded in death by his father, Maurice Richards, and mother, Helen McCabe. He is survived by his wife (Wifey) Jan Richards; daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Dennis Landis of Westerville and their 3 children, Jessica (Ryan) Miller, Annie (Ben) Horn, and Molly (Andrew) Nottingham; son and daughter-in-law and Jeff and Cyndi Richards of Westerville, and their three children, Tyler (Sindhu), Alex (Kati), and Kasey; daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Wes McKenzie of Pensacola, Florida, and their two children, Caitlin and Ben; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Chris Richards of Westerville, and their three children, Sam, Zach, and Mia; 2 great granddaughters and 1 great grandson; sister, Ruthie (Chuck) Smail of New Castle, Pennsylvania; sisters-in-law, Barbara (John) Turner, Carol (Eddie) MacIntyre, and brother-in-law, Frank (Marie) MacLean, and many other dear family members and friends. Richie was a devoted husband for almost 59 years and a loving father to the very last day on this earth. He passed away into the arms of Jesus at his home surrounded by the family who adores him. Graduate of Washington & Jefferson College in 1960. Jim served in the 82nd Airborne and was very proud to serve his country in the US Army. He will be missed so very much. The family is very grateful to Mt. Carmel Hospice for the loving support and care given to Richie in his last weeks of his life. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 27th at Grace Polaris Church 8225 Worthington-Galena Rd, Westerville, OH 43081. Family will receive family and friends from 1-2 pm with a short service at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s honor can be made to Mt. Carmel Hospice through the Mt.
