James J. “Jim” Keane, Jr., age 77, of Westerville, OH, passed away July 13, 2016. Retired Electrical Engineer from Commonwealth Electric of MA and formerly employed by AEP Ohio. Born in Queens, NY. Graduate of New York University with a BEEE. U.S. Air Force veteran. Member of Church of the Messiah United Methodist and Searchers Sunday School class, Westerville Lions Club and Romeos Dinner Group. An avid golfer and member of 2 golf leagues. Survived by his wife of 47 years, Phylis; daughter, Kelly (Matt) Rieser of Lewis Center; son, James J. (Aimee) Keane, III of Milton, Ga; grandchildren, Emily and Cailyn Rieser; and Hunter Keane; brothers, Richard (Diane) and Donald Keane; sister, Marie Urbanski; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Marilyn (Duane) Stephens, Gwendolyn (LaRue) Maynard and Ronald (Janet) Cole; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, James and Leida Keane, Sr., brother, Edward and brother-in-law, Ramon Cole. Friends may call at Church of the Messiah, 51 N. State Street, Westerville, Thursday 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. where service will be held Friday at 10 a.m., Rev. Jim Wilson, officiating. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society in memory of Jim (specify Lung Cancer) or Westerville Lions Club. Arrangements by MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, Westerville, OH.
