JARVIS

James E. Jarvis, age 71, died suddenly in his home on March 1, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; daughters, Alicia and Joanna; stepson, Christopher and his siblings, Gordon, Robert and Deborah. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Turley; father, Lonnie Jarvis and siblings, Darlene and Richard. Jim joined the Air Force and went off to Vietnam to serve his country. He stayed enlisted for a military career that spanned 22 years. After he retired from the military he briefly worked as a government contractor, and then finished out his career working for the Defense Logistics Agency. He was also the rare breed of man who was creative with his hands and was always working on some project, whether it was woodworking, fixing cars, turning luxury pens, or photographing his favorite scenic spots. Jim loved reading, gardening, cooking, and was a master of the grill. We must not forget that he was a loyal red-headed Irishman to the core, and for that we all loved him. Friends may call Monday, March 7th from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME 55 East Schrock Road, Westerville where services will be held at 2:00 pm. Interment at Dayton National Cemetery, Dayton, OH. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to either the USO or the Special Olympics, both of which were near and dear to Jims heart.
