Our dear mother, Irene Ruth Wood, 86 passed away on January 22, 2023 peacefully after a brief illness. She was born June 6, 1936 in Charleston, West Virginia to Carl A. and Emma Walker Bryson. She lived a full and happy life and was a wonderful mother, grandmother, wife and friend to so many. She retired from Westerville City Schools as well as assisted in her husbands business Surwood Products. They also were ushers for the OSU Football & Columbus Blue Jackets games. Anyone who entered her home or the lives of her husband, four children and two grandchildren were welcomed and included as family forever! Irene loved taking care of her family and enjoyed genealogy, scrapbooking and creating photo albums of family & travels. She was a gardener, cook and brave carnival ride, rider! Her beautiful spirit, smile and laugh will live in all of those she left behind. Proceeded in death by her parents, husband of 61 years Sherman F. Wood. She is survived by her 4 Children; Mike Wood, Mark Wood, Sandy (David) Pritchard, and Greg (Karen) Wood and Grandchildren Tyler and Eli Pritchard; Sisters Doris McLaughlin and Lucille Shaw; and several Nieces and Nephews. Graveside service will be held Saturday January 28, 2023 at Union Cemetery Columbus, Ohio, In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Promedica Hospice 116 Morris Road.

I was privileged.to know Irene for Many years as well as her family. I thpught of her as a friend and received good advice from her over the years. Her children and grandchildren were blessed to have her in their lives. Bless you all.
