RHOADES
Howard ”Larry” Rhoades, age 66, of Galena, Ohio passed away peacefully June 18, 2013 with family by his side. Born in Columbus, Ohio, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam. Larry retired from International Paper after 44 years of service. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and son, who will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Preceded in death by mother, Mildred Irene (Pearce) Rhoades. Survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Linda (Miller) Rhoades. son, Mark Allen Rhoades and grandsons Nikolas and Nathan. father Ira Wilson Rhoades. brothers; Robert and Steven; sisters Cheryl and Julie. special friend, Terry Leffler, nieces, nephews and many friends. The family would like to give special thanks to VITAS Hospice for the great care Larry received in preparation for his new journey. Graveside service and burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday June 21, 2013 at Mifflin Cemetery, Gahanna, Ohio. Pastor Frank Carl officiating. Arrangements by the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, Westerville, Ohio.

Look up prototypical best friend in the dictionary and you will find a picture of Larry Rhoades. If he said he had you back, he had your back and you needn’t worry. He was generous, with himself, his time, his expertise (which was leigon), and money. I doubt you could find anyone to say a bad thing about him. If you can, send him to talk to me.The world is certianly a lesser place without him. I for one, lament his passing.
