Harry Hixson passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, at Mount Carmel St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville, OH. Harry was born on June 22, 1952, in Columbus, OH, to the late Chalmer Gale and Margaret DeLurde (Fox) Hixson. Harry joined his beloved wife Susie, who moved to her new home with their savior Jesus on February 4, 2024, after 38 years of marriage. Harry was also preceded in death by his sister Ellen Waits. He is survived by siblings Chalmer Gale Hixson III and AnnaLee Hixson, along with many other relatives.
Harry graduated from the Devereux School in Philadelphia in 1972. He served in the United States Army and enjoyed a long career as an over-the-road truck driver. Harry loved a wide variety of music and was an accomplished blues harp player. He was a loyal friend with a quick and subtle wit who fearfully opened his heart to a few. Most of all, though, Harry loved Jesus, who redeemed Harry's hurts, faults and regrets, and who prepared a permanent home and a joyful homecoming for Harry.
Calling hours are at Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E Schrock Rd in Westerville, OH, 11:00-11:30 a.m., on Saturday, November 15th followed immediately by a celebration of life at 11:30 a.m.
