June 23, 1943 - June 27, 2026
Beloved Wife of 49 years. Dynamic, unique, and respected Mother, Sister, Aunt, Friend, Teacher, Business Owner, World Traveler, and Nature Lover. Gloria June Zaharoff passed away on June 27th from heart failure. She fiercely fought through her illnesses with hope, humor, and steadfast determination. She always had a smile on her face and a positive attitude. Her presence improved the quality of the day and made others smile through her teasing and compliments. She'd leave you blowing kisses, squeezing your hand, and winking her eye to let you know she loved you and cared.
For over 30 years, Gloria was a Middle School English Teacher within Hilliard City Schools. She believed middle school was the best grade level to instill intelligence, resilience, and curiosity. An incredibly successful business woman, she co-owned and managed an expansive real estate empire with her husband in Columbus, Ohio. Together, they also built their home from the ground-up. Like her mother, she was a nature lover and a world traveler. She loved Hallmark movies year-round and she was an adventuresome, vivacious risk taker, who carved and curated life on her own terms.
Gloria loved her family most. From Warren, Ohio, she is pre-deceased by her parents, William and Kathryn Zackeroff, her brother Kenneth Zackeroff (Bonni), and her best friend and beloved sister, Jane Lehnert (Ed). She is survived by the Love of her Life and devoted husband of 49 years, Clark Baltzell, and by her daughter, Shelley Zaharoff (Nick). She was loved by her step-children, nieces, nephews, and her "Grand-Doggies" Ruby, Chloe, Bandit, and Teddy.
Gloria's immediate family held a private summer memorial to celebrate her wonderful life. A joint Celebration of Life party will be held for Gloria and for her cherished sister, Jane, at Maize Manor Methodist Church in Columbus, Ohio for family and friends on October 24th, 2026.
