He was born in Yonkers, NY July 18,1942, but a move to Westerville, Ohio in 1957 became home where he graduated high school in 1960 and Otterbein College in 1966. George served his country in the Army National Guard of Ohio for 10 years until a career move occurred. A math and business major led to the world of banking and more starting with Buckeye Federal Savings & Loan in Westerville, Chase Bank in New York, Talman Home, Fuji Futures, Mizuho Securities all in Chicago. Chicago was home for over 40 years before returning to Westerville upon retirement. George was deeply rooted in his Catholic faith and he and Donna were actively involved in their Immaculate Conception parish there. Fr. Lee would tell many a person to go see George for help or answers to needs and to help him as his Parish Council chairperson. George was a mentor to many in his business life as well. But most important in his life was his family.he was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and he cherished the time he had with all but especially grandchildren TJ and Kelsey. Upon retirement he became involved within his community at the Courtyards at Maxtown and was given the tag fondly as "Mayor" as he walked the community daily.
