George E. Erwin

George Erwin was born May 14th 1946 and passed peacefully in his sleep on July 10th 2022 after battling several different illnesses. He is preceded in death by his parents, several siblings and his wife Mary Anne. He is survived by his son, Jeremy, his daughter-in-law, Laura; his grandsons, Cayden and Elijah, brother ,Jerry and sister-in-law, Karen; nephews Jerry Jr. and Brian, brother and sister-in-law Bill and Judy, as well as several cousins, great nieces and nephews and several 'adopted' children and grandchildren.

George was a proud Vietnam Veteran who then went on to serve on the Ohio State Highway Patrol for over thirty years. He loved to be around people and never met a stranger. He loved taking road trips with his family and in his final years were able to go on several. He was a giving and kind man, a wonderful husband, father, and friend. He had simple tastes and loved watching movies and going out to eat. He always had a corny dad joke at the ready and if you asked him how he was feeling he would tell you 'with my fingers'.

His family is heartbroken to see him go but is relieved he went peacefully and in his sleep and that he is reunited with his wife.

Graveside service and interment will be held at Northlawn Memory Gardens on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 1 p.m.
