George A. Compton, 67, of Centerburg, passed away Friday March 18, 2011 at Knox Community Hospital. Retired Information Systems Director for Lancaster
Colony and a retired farmer. Member of Chester Lodge # 238 F & AM, Chesterville; Evelyn Chapter # 146 O.E.S. and Veteran of U.S. Army. Attended Centerburg Church of Christ. Preceded in death by parents, Carl & Marie Compton. Survived by brother, Jerry (Judy) Compton of Centerburg; nephews, Paul (Candy) Compton, Ray Compton and Allen Compton all of Mt. Vernon, OH. Friends may call at the JOHNSON-MELICK-MORELAND FUNERAL HOME 49 West Church Street Centerburg, Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. where service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday March 23, 2011. I worked with George for many years at Pretty Products in Coshocton. His passing was quite a surprise as I had not heard anything about George for quite some time.
