ALTIZER

George Dewey Altizer, of Centerburg, OH, passed away May 10, 2014 at Centerburg Pointe. He was born November 23, 1928 in Tazewell County, VA to the late Carrie and Louie Altizer, Sr.. Dewey attended school in Virginia and after moving to Ohio he was employed in the plastering business; a hard worker he also enjoyed woodworking and caning chairs. A member of the Advent Christian Church in Mt. Liberty. He liked gardening, talking on his CB radio and enjoyed watching John Wayne movies with a special nephew, Guy Altizer. Survived by sisters, Mary (Jim) Stiffler of Sparta, Betty (Jim) Mossholder of Brandon; sister-in-law, Judy of Centerburg; brothers, Warren (Peg) of Reynoldsburg and Norm (Susie) of Centerburg; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by sister, Lucille Kaufman; sisters-in-law, Rita and Carol; brothers, Louie, Sr., John and Rex; brother-in-law, Milton. Friends may call at the JOHNSON-MELICK-MORELAND FUNEAL HOME, 49 W. Church Street, Centerburg, Tuesday from 1-2 p.m. followed by a service at 2 p.m., Pastor Chad Davis, officiating. Interment Bloomfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Advent Christian Church, 7192 Columbus Road, Mt. Liberty, OH 43048.
