Gabrielle (Gaby) Brown was 66 years old when she passed away on Tuesday, July 6th after a tenacious 2 ½ year battle against cancer. Gaby was born on October 10th, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio. She was the baby of the family and she loved to share stories of growing up as the youngest and had many fond memories as well as humorous tales. Gaby was a strong advocate for others and in her spare time took law classes working towards a degree as a paralegal. Her career was spent working at the General Motors Delphi plant. Gaby’s advocacy for others led her to run and be elected to the Vice President of the UAW. She was a strong force and loved to debate issues. Her other passion was politics. She was a huge supporter of the Democratic Party, and again, loved a great debate. Gaby is survived by her sons, Lance Brown, Eric Brown (Lisa Paeltz); her grandchildren, Brittany Brown and John Brown; her siblings, Valjean Woolridge, Judith Wilson, Janet Gutches; as well as many nieces, nephews and great friends. Gaby is preceded in death by her parents, Edna and Gabriel Veach, her husband, Joe Brown, her siblings, Ernest Wallace, Charles Veach, and Mary Hayes. The visitation will be on Monday, July 12th from 6-8 p.m. at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME 55 East Shrock Rd., Westerville, where a service will be held on Tuesday, July 13th at 11:00am. Rev. Steve Putka officiating. Interment Concord Cemetery, Grove City, OH. A memorial fund has been established for Home Reach Hospice 180 East Broad St., Columbus, OH 43215. Gaby will be remembered most for her compassion for others, her passion for those things she believed in most, as well as her friendship and caring nature. She was an amazing woman who will be missed by many.
