WILSON-SIMPSON
Freda J. Wilson-Simpson, born on September 20, 1930 in Mt. Vernon, OH and died on April 9, 2011 in Oakland, CA. Retired as a Business Assistant for Dr.’s Jones, Kelch, Eckhart and Reed in Newark, OH where she spent most of her life. Freda was a beloved mother, mother-in-law, a loyal caretaker, an event organizer and spiritual source of strength for all around her. She was very active in the Ohio Eastern Star serving many capacities including Worthy Grand Matron of her local chapter and Deputy of the State of Ohio. Member of Central Christian Church and later First Baptist Church of Newark. Three years ago, she set out on a new adventure and moved to Danville, California to be near her son. She quickly adapted, making new friends and of course orgainizing activities for everyone to participate in. She traveled throughout California seeing the sights and enjoyed a special trip to Hawaii. She will be sorely missed by her family and both new and old friends. She is survived by her son, Jeff and daughter-in-law, Siomara of Oakland, CA; many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by husbands, Raymond “Pat” Wilson and James Simpson; her parents, Freel A. and Genevieve (Moreland) Laymon; and brother Herb Laymon. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Thursday 4-8 p.m.. Graveside service will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 275 North Cedar Street, Newark, OH Friday at 11 a.m., Rebecca Taylor, officiating. Easter Star service Thursday at 7:30 p.m..
