Fred H. Ahlborn

Fred H. Ahlborn, 82, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away on May 3, 2024. He was born on July 4, 1941, in Salineville, Ohio. Fred was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, survived by his wife of 60 years, Norma, his children Christopher (Mikl), Cassandra (Mike), and his grandchildren, Connor, Ethan (Ashley), Jackson and Elyssa. After receiving his Business degree from Kent State University, he and Norma moved to Columbus, Ohio, where he worked for the Bureau of Workers Compensation, served in the 94th Army Band in New York; and was employed by the Ohio Department of Taxation as the District Tax Manager for 30 years.

In the early years, Fred and Norma were members of the Indian Springs Dance Club and regular members of Central College Presbyterian Church, where he served as a trustee and volunteered in the sound room for many years. Fred was a very proud member of the Aladdin Shriners, the Northeast Shrine and the Mariners. In retirement, he and Norma joined the Buckeye Boat Club.

He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all who loved him. He will be interred at the Central College Church Columbarium where family plans to have a small service and luncheon later in May. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Central College Church or to Aladdin Shriners hospitals.
