Frances Clevenger Armstrong, age 79, of Centerburg, formerly of The Laurels of Mt. Vernon, passed away July 17, 2012 at Centerburg Pointe surrounded by her loving family. Owned and operated Frankie’s Beauty Shop for 38 years, former clerk for Centerburg water department. Former member of Amvets 059, Pythian Sisters and Womens Auxillary of Centerburg Fire Department. She loved spending time with her family, a single red rose and a good game of cards. Born February 11, 1933 to Carl and Pearl (Rose) Pruett. Survived by her son, Larry (Donna) Dowis; daughters, Carla (Steve) Daniels and Jacque (Leslie) Sears; grandchildren, Lori (Kerry) Lawrence, Josh (Ellen) Sears, Stephanie (Jason) Plumly, Aaron and Ashley Dowis, and Jay (Heather Beougher) Daniels; great-grandchildren, Drew and Erin Dilger, Brayden Dowis, Jaxon and Jaelynn Plumly, Sara Grace Sears, Haddon Daniels, (?) Plumly and (?) Sears; sisters Elizabeth (Walter) Brown of Mt. Airy, MD and Helen (Robert) Keller of Bucyrus, OH; many nieces, nephews and many friends. Preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ora, Jean and Annabelle; brothers, Jasper, Joe, Harvey and Calvin. Friends may call at the JOHNSON-MELICK-MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 49 W. Church Street, Centerburg, Thursday 4-7 p.m. where service will be held Friday at 11 a.m.. Interment Bloomfield Cemetery.
