Correction: While I am sure some aspects of Mickey's pig roast may have been infamous, I meant famous!

George was one of my dad’s dearest cousins. I grew up hearing my parents impressively talk about George’s many attributes. For instance, how George could rearrange luggage or any amount of bags to fit perfectly in the trunk and still have room leftover! I personally remember seeing George explaining to my dad how things worked or how to fix things in detailed drawings; he had the brain of an engineer. While I was not as close to George as many others were, I felt fortunate to have gone on two road trips with him: once when I was in 3rd grade to experience one of his brother Mickey’s infamous pig roasts (I will NEVER forget that trip!), and one just a few months ago to attend Uncle Frank’s memorial service. George was always gracious and kind to me during those long car rides. When I became a parent for the first time, my mother Glenda, 9 month old daughter Maeve, and I coincidentally ran into George in Armi on a flight back from Orlando to Columbus! Maeve was terrible and fussy as ever until George came to the rescue and entertained her; I was so grateful. I have to say my greatest memories of George was when we would attend “Crawford Madness”. George and Armi were wonderful hosts and it was something I always looked forward to. George definitely valued his family - not only Armi and his children, but his relationship with his siblings, parents, cousins, aunts, and uncles. He was a faithful servant to God and always the gentleman. I greatly respect him for his devotion to family and for serving our country in Vietnam. I know he is in heaven with our father now, but he will certainly be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Armi, his children, and his 15 grandchildren. George was one of a kind - I am proud to have known him.

Matt, (and the entire Crawford family), I am deeply saddened by the loss of your father. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. To lose one’s father is an exceptionally difficult trial but I pray you can find some relief and comfort in knowing he is not suffering or in pain but instead he is being welcomed home.

Armi and the Crawford family, I remember Mike and I talking with George many times when the children were in school together. My husband would talk with him about many projects that Mike was working on, George would always volunteer to come over to help Mike. My sympathies I know he will be missed by many.

This a great loss for the "Thursday Morning Breakfast at Lisska's gang! George will be missed but he's on his way to the Eternal Reward where there will be no more wailing or weeping or gnashing of teeth. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and may Perpetual Light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.
