SMITH
Elmer D. Smith, age 88 of Centerburg, passed away Wednesday December 14, 2011 at Knox Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon. Retired from Columbia Gas of Ohio. Member of Milford Church of Christ Centerburg; U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II. Preceded in death by daughter, Julie Nicely, parents DeQuincey & Icel Smith, brothers, Roy and Homer; sister Marilyn Samuels. Survived by loving wife of 47 years, Violet G. Smith. Children; Ruth Ann (John) Wisler of Amanda, OH, Rebecca (Michael) Murphy of Strongsville, OH, and Ronald (Miriam) Smith of Hemet, CA. 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday December 16, 2011 at the JOHNSON-MELICK-MORELAND FUNERAL HOME 49 West Church Street Centerburg with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
