Ellis Howard Kemp, age 77, of Pataskala, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on February 19, 2026. Born to Raymond Howard Kemp and Martha Catherine Owen Kemp, he graduated from New Albany High School to honorably serve in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1971. Ellis would marry Janet Henry and dedicate his life to building and supporting a loving family.
Ellis was known for his unwavering love for Jesus Christ and the great outdoors. A generous protector, provider, and avid outdoorsman, his sense of justice and love of forests, lakes, and mountains remain a prominent part of his legacy.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Kemp; children Kelly Rodgers, Devin Kemp Evans, and Morgan (Ursula) Kemp; and his granddaughters Haley, Ava, Ashrei, and Brielle. Ellis served as an inspiration to many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
He returns to the loving arms of parents Raymond and Martha; siblings Catherine Louise “Kitty" Little, William Lee Kemp, Cheryl Lynn Wallace; and son Barry Douglas Rodgers. A celebration of life is postponed until early summer and will be announced closer to that time.
