Elizabeth “Betty” J. Loney, age 89, of Sarah Moore Home in Delaware, OH, went home to be with her Lord January 24, 2011. Born December 4, 1921 in New Straitsville, OH to the late Della (Vernon) and Michael Felix Lynch. Preceded in death by husbands, Finice (Dap) Cartmille and Harold Loney, acquired daughters, Jeanne Riesen and Marilyn McCollum, siblings, Dolores, Margaret, Richard, Thomas and Robert. Survived by acquired daughter, Miriam Linda (Dan) Brown; many grandchildren including Durena (Bill) Holobaugh, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, including a very close niece, Patricia (Cliff) Miller and nephews. She was raised in St. Vincent’s Orphanage from age 6 along with her brothers and sisters. Her and Dap Cartmille had a small farm in London, OH where she opended her own beauty shop in the early 60’s. She joined Arthur Murray’s dance studio and competed in ball-roon dancing. Later in life she met Harold Loney and enjoyed some of the best and most fun years of her life. They loved to travel, especially to casinos where she was known as “fast-fingers Betty” on the slots. She absolutely adored cats, as well as crocheting. Betty had a great sense of humor and was dearly loved by the wonderfull people of Sarah Moore Home. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Thursday 6-8 p.m.. Graveside service and interment will be held at Fairview Memorial Park, 8601 Columbus Pike, Lewis Center Friday at 11 a.m., Rev. Fr. Augustine Okpe, officiating.
