Elizabeth Jane Huffman, ag 93, joined many friends and family as she met her Lord and Saviour on May 27, 2012 after a short stay at Centerburg Pointe Nursing Home. Born February 15, 1919 in Centerburg, Ohio. She was the oldest daughter of Charles and Alvira Huffman. Eliz was a proud graduate of Centerburg High School in 1938 and served as a volunteer with the alumni board for many years; after high school she went on to the Mt. Vernon Business School. She worked at the Army Depot in Columbus for several years and then for the State of Ohio Deparment of Taxation, retiring in 1987 after 30 years of service. She was the longest living member of the Centerburg Christian Church joining as a young girl; she served as secretary of the board for many years. Eliz was very proud to be a life member of the Ohio Eastern Star, Manilla Chapter #100, and was very involved in their activities. She also served on the Centerburg Senior Board. She appreciated all her friends at the Centerburg Place Senior Apartments where she has lived for the last 10 years. Preceded in death by her parents, brother, Robert (Bob) Huffman and brother-in-law, Don Fuller. Elizabeth will be missed by those she leaves behind; her brother, Phyllip (Jean) Huffman; sister, Phyllis Fuller; sister-in-law, Jean (Andrews) Huffman; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the JOHNSON-MELICK-MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 49 W. Church Street, Centerburg, OH, Wednesday 5-8 p.m.. Celebration of her life will be held at Centerburg Christian Church, 33 W. Church Street, Centerburg, Thursday at 11 a.m., Elmer Ball, officiating. Interment Eastview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Centerburg Christian Church or Central Ohio Joint Fire District.
