I hope this email finds its way to Eleanor Bean’s family. We have been out of town and I just saw the obit in the Mount Vernon News. Both my husband and I taught school with your mom/grandmother in Centerburg. She even came to our wedding! I taught 4th grade 1971-1975 while she taught 3rd so we were next door to each other until the addition was completed. I remember that she loved animals. I think she had a pet rooster? She was always sooooo very concerned with each and every child. Her compassion for their education and well-being were over the top. I just have really nice memories of her. I guess she lived a full life – wow, 87! I hope your family has some great memories to treasure!

Dr. Vicky Madwar - Nov 23, 2012

Your family is in my thoughts and prayers in this time of great loss. Eleanor was a very special woman and a very dear client. I always admired her devotion to her beloved feline friends. She was very kind to all of us at Annehurst Veterinary Hospital and we will miss her. You all have my deepest sympathy on the loss of your mother and grandmother.
Sincerely,
Vicky Madwar
