.Edwin "Ed" L. Bishop, 75, of Westerville, OH, passed away on October 2, 2023 in Westerville, OH. He was born on February 25, 1948, in Tiffin, OH. Ed spent most of his career with Ohio Bell/AT&T from 1969 until his retirement in 1999.
Ed is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Diane Bishop, and his children, Kellie (Russ) Morris, Stephen (Timea) Bishop, Shawn (Sue) Crace, and Karen (Allan) Halle. He is also survived by his sisters, Carol Tucker and Bonnie (Roy) Mayeux, as well as his grandchildren, Melissa (Chris) Hutchason, Megan (Matt) Fredrick, Amanda, Emily, and Glenn Morris, and great-grandchildren, William, Braeden, Aubrie, Addy, and Emelia. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Laurance and Frances Bishop, his siblings, Donald and John Bishop and Julie Kern, and his granddaughter, Cassy Crace. He also leaves behind nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.
Ed attended Tiffin Columbian High School, graduating in 1966, and went on to earn an associate degree from the University of Toledo. He was a dedicated member of Grace Polaris Church, where he found spiritual solace.
In his free time, Ed enjoyed pursuing various hobbies. He was a professional clown, bringing joy and laughter to many. He also served as an usher for OSU football games and volunteered for various organizations, always willing to lend a helping hand. Ed was also a performer and soundboard operator for Grace Polaris Church, using his talents to enhance the worship experience.
Visitation hours for Ed will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023, from 10 am until 12 pm, with services immediately following at Moreland Funeral Home located at 55 East Schrock Rd, Westerville, OH. Pastor Dan Hammers Officiant.
Edwin "Ed" L. Bishop will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He never knew a stranger. His kindness, humor, gift of gab, and dedication to his loved ones and community will forever be remembered.
