Edward F. Barboza, 82, of Powell, Ohio died Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at the Convalarium at Indian Run in Dublin, Ohio. He was born on August 22, 1931 in Chicopee Falls, Massachuetts to Joseph & Catherine Barboza. He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Joanne Shirley Barboza. Surviving are his four children and twelve grandchildren: Son Scott and his wife Marky (Dana-20, Alexandra-18, Olivia-13 and William-9), son Brad and his wife Carolyn (Tara-20, Patrick-16 and Jack-12), daughter Lynne and her husband Chris Paden (Matthew-14, Andrew-10 and Tonya-9) and daughter Catherine and her husband Rich Smith (Jacob-6 and Paige-4). Edward’s parents, Joseph & Catherine Barboza and eight siblings, Louise, Irene, Arthur, Walter, Adeline, David, Allen and Marion preceded him in death. Edward spent his youth in Chicopee Falls, Massachuetts. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1950, spent 23 years in service to his country, and retired in 1972 where he settled in southern Delaware County Ohio with his wife. He was a letter carrier in the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years and retired in 1992. Edward enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, including attending may of their special events. He was an avid reader, enjoyed playing golf and watching Western movies. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation of the excellent, loving care he received at the Convalarium of Dublin. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME 55 East Schrock Road Westerville, 2-4 p.m., brief prayer service at 3:00 on Saturday September 14, 2013. Private interment at a later date.
