Our beloved father, Dwight C Kreischer, passed away February 6, 2023, at the age of 92. Retired from Columbus Public Schools as a Middle School teacher. He was preceded death by Jean, his wife of 49 years, and is survived by his two sons, Michael and Bruce, three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He was born in 1930 in Westerville Ohio, graduated from Westerville High Scholl in 1947, enlisted in the National Guard of Ohio in 1947, graduated from Otterbein College. He had a lifelong passion for his church, scouting and photography. Dwight was a member of what became The Church of Messiah in Westerville for over 80 years. He attended the International Boy Scout Jamboree in France in 1947. He was an Eagle Scout and Scout Master, and a veteran of the Korean War. Graveside service was held at Otterbein Cemetery on May 26, 2023. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice.

My fondest memories of Dwight was our times working together as rangers at Blendon Woods Metropolitan Park. I truly never saw him in a bad mood and enjoyed our conversations.

I knew Mr. Kreischer as COACH. Played basketball for him my Junior Year. Taught me lessons that have followed me through my life.
