Dulce Dalmacio Dulay, 83, of Powell, Ohio passed peacefully on Sunday, November 17, 2024.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 57 years, Danilo Dulay; children: Cecilia Dulay, Marietta (James) Latham, Dexter (Tanya) Dulay and Mignette (Loren) Strife; grandchildren: Brandon Bond, Brittany Latham, James Latham Jr, Taylor (Alistair) Latham, Marissa Dulay, Jordan Strife, Jason Strife, Joshua Strife, and Kylie Strife; sister, Daisy Borile; as well as numerous relatives and friends including the Tolentino and Ojevera families.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Alfredo and Benjamin Dalmacio; and her parents, IƱigo and Maria Elemos Dalmacio.
Dulce, affectionately known as "Mama", was born in Canlubang, Laguna, Philippines on September 11, 1941. She went to the University of Santo Tomas in Manila and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. In 1977, she moved with her husband and children to Columbus, Ohio.
Mama loved being a Buckeye. She was an excellent cook, would crochet beautiful blankets, enjoyed the casino and playing Mah Jong. If you went to visit her, the tv was always on the Hallmark channel while she was working on a word search or reading Star magazine, with the aroma of Filipino food throughout the home.
She will be remembered most for her kindness and above all her love for her family and friends. Especially her husband, children, and grandchildren. We will all miss her dearly, including the family dogs, Theo and Jessie.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life at Moreland Funeral Home in Westerville on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
Service will be Friday, November 22, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Moreland Funeral Home. Burial will conclude at Resurrection Cemetery in Lewis Center, Ohio. Reception following at Vibe Venue, 10 Dillmont Dr, Columbus, Ohio.
