Dorothy I. Wheeler of Marengo, Ohio, Bennington Glen, went home to be with the Lord on July 17, 2010. Born on August 8, 1926, she was a 1945 graduate of Hamilton High School and employed with F & R Lazarus in the 1960’s. She was a Brownie Leader with the Girl Scouts of America. She was an active member of the Johnstown Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir and sang at the “1964 Billy Graham Crusade” held at the Ohio State Fair Grounds. Recently was a member of the Genoa Baptist Church and the “Top of the Hill” group. She belonged to the Gavey Club, the American Gourd Society and the Ohio Gourd Society. Survived by sister Louise Forcione, Marengo; son-in-law, Bruce Barber of Galena, OH; daughter-in-law, Becky Wheeler of Cincinnati, OH; ex-daughter-in-law, Lisa Walker. grandchildren; Angela Wiegand, Cardington, OH, BHryan Barber of Reynoldsburg, OH, Michael & Nicole Wheeler, Mt. Gilead, OH, Richard & Amanda Wheeler, Jeffrey Wheeler and John Wheeler all of Newark OH, Michael Neal of Cincinnati, OH and many great grandchildren. Preceded in death by father Louis Fleak, mother Alice Fleak, stepmother Beulah Fleak, brother James Fleak, sisters Frances Fleak and Mae Barr, son Louis Wheeler and daughter Alice Barber. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who took great pride in her family. Graveside service for the immediate family will be at Walnut Hills Cemetery on July 21, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. with interment immediately following.
