Dorothy Jane Sund, 78, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017, in Sunbury, Ohio.
The funeral service was held Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at Moreland’s Funeral Home with Derrick Hurst of Living Word Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Dorothy was born in Morristown, NJ on October 14, 1938 to Christy and Dorothy Pickel. Dorothy graduated from high school in Flanders, NJ and went on to work for Bell Labs for several years. Dorothy was married to Erling Sund on August 29th, 1959. They were married for 57 years. Dorothy was a loving mother of three children. She enjoyed crafts, quilting, sewing and spending time with her family and friends. She was actively involved in church and other charitable organizations. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Erling Sund; daughter, Lisa Tomashuk (George), son, Kevin Sund (Pick), and daughter, Cynthia Klingensmith (Scott); grandchildren, Timothy Tomashuk (Antigone), Christina Tomashuk, Anna Klingensmith and Atalie Klingensmith; brother, Richard Pickel; and sisters, Marion Bawiec, Pat Gottsleben and Betty Crater and many other loving family members and friends In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dorothy’s honor may be given to “Living Word Evangelical Lutheran Church Building Fund” at 7539 Dustin Road, Galena, Ohio 43021.
