Doris B. Metz (nee Boston), age 91, of Westerville, OH, former 50 year resident of Minerva Park, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Roy E. Metz, long time attorney and Law Director for the City of Westerville, parents, Charles Roy and Lacy (nee Brown) Boston and son-in-law, Tom Stift. Survived by daughters, Jill Stift of Prospect Heights, IL and Kelly (Jeff) Rafferty of Fredericktown, OH; grandsons, Zach Smith of Stow, OH and Nick Smith of Long Beach, CA; nieces, Kathie (Phil) Guss and Bette Brown; cousin, Max J. (Norma) Parks. Doris graduated valedictorian from Ellet High School, Akron, OH in 1941. Attended Akron University and Otterbein College, graduating in 1945. A motorhome and travel enthusiast, an avid bridge player and a music lover, she played 5 different instruments. Her twilight years were spent at Feridean Commons Retirement Community with many friends, both staff and residents. Friends may call at Church of the Master United Methodist, corner of Grove and Main Streets, Westerville, Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., followed by a service at 1 p.m., Rev. Char Schultz, officiating. Interment Blendon Central Cemetery. Arrangements by MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, Westerville, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
