Donald Ross McCann, 80, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Morrow Manor. He was born on April 15, 1934, in North Tazewell, Virginia, son of the late Henry and Golda McCann. Ross honorably served his country in the Army National Guard. He graduated from Centerburg High in 1952. He married Eva Butler on February 25, 1956. Together, they had three children, Donald Jr., Doug and Ellie. Ross retired as a Territory Manager for A and R Freight Systems after many years in the trucking industry. He also was a local cattle farmer. In addition to his parents, Ross was preceded in death by his wife, Eva, his sister, Bernice Spearman and his brother, Ronald McCann. He is survived by his children, Donald Jr., (Phyllis) of Orwell, OH., Doug (Leslie) of Mount Vernon and Ellie (Jim) Hartsock of Batesville, IN. He is also survived by brothers Ray McCann of Mt Vernon and Lynn McCann of Centerburg as well as several grandchildren; Devon, Megan, Patrick, Anna, Chad, Darby and Caleb. Visitation will be held on Saturday, 11-1 pm., at JOHNSON-MELICK-MORELAND FUNERAL HOME in Centerburg. Private graveside service at Mount Liberty Cemetery.
