HARPER
Donald R. Harper, age 79, of Westerville, passed away Tuesday September 9, 2014 at home. Retired carpenter and member of Carpenter’s Union 200. Preceded in death by wife, Juanita. Survived by sons; Randall (Cathy) Harper of Corpus Christi, Texas and Donnie (Becky) Harper of Centerburg, OH. Loving companion, Leona Sapp.
Grandchildren; Dawnlynn, Danielle, Jason, Aaron, Christian and Shelby and 6 great grandchildren. Sister, May and brothers Clem and Jim. Numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME 55 East Schrock Road Westerville, 5-7 p.m. Sunday where service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday September 15, 2014 with visitation one hour prior to service. Pastor Jim Harper officiating. Interment Blendon Central Cemetery.

HI – I am Lee’s daughter who lives in Washington state. I want you to know how much we truly cared about Don. In many ways he was a surrogate grandpa to my kids. My son Danny especially loved spending time with Don – when we were there in July he had Danny giggling so loud when he said one of the hard root beer candies looked liked a “rat’s behind”.
I truly appreciated how Don treated my Mom like a Queen. I am so grateful for the time they spent together – from just eating dinner together to traveling. It meant so much to me to know that he kept an eye on her all of the time.
Please know that Don was very important to our family – he will be deeply missed.
