GATES
Don F. Gates, age 70, of Westerville, passed away peacefully May 19, 2011 at home. He was born in Indianapolis, IN on September 14, 1940 to William Donald (Don) and Ruth Eleanor Gates. Don was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, attended Indiana University, and served in the United States Marine Corps. Don was a retired home builder and Real Estate Broker. Don lived a great life; he loved to travel, he was a fabulous cook, he built beautiful homes, he was very funny and charming, he enjoyed watching the birds and deer in his backyard, but most importantly, he was a great father and friend. Don was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marilyn Gates-Sites. He is survived by his wife Judy, children, Becki, CeCe and Jason (Kara) Reynolds; granddaughter, Avery Reynolds; brother, Greg (Kendra) Gates of Casa Grande, AZ; nephews, William Gates, Seth Gates, Todd Sites and Tim Sites; niece, Kendra Gates-Derousscau; and his devoted canine companions, Sunshine and CoCo. The family would like to thank Steven Patterson for being a wonderful caregiver to Don for the past couple of months, Nightingale Home Care and HomeReach Hospice for their care and support. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Monday 6-8 p.m. where service will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m.. Private interment.

I have a lot of fond memories. Also, we drank a few beers with Don at the famous SCOREBOARD LOUNGE. He was a great man. He liked to call me hammerhead, go figure. I will miss that voice and his smile. WHAT A GUY
