Delmar Sexton, Jr. was born on December 24, 1943, in Knott County, Kentucky and passed away on January 25, 2023, in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from Franklin University with an associates degree and was a member of the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Delmar Sexton Sr and Drutha Sexton, sisters, Joyce Bates, Liza Jarrell, Donna Woofter, Sue Bergman, and Pauline Sexton, brothers, Lester Sexton, Darvin Sexton, and Thurman Sexton.

Delmar is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen Sexton, his children, Tammy (Mike) Yoakum, Jeremy (Sue) Sexton, and Angela (Mike Lare) Sexton, sister, Mary (Gene) Lang, and brother, Ronnie Gene (Karen) Sexton; grandchildren: Jennifer Steinmetz, Michael (Ashley Mcmahan) Pope, Nick Sexton, Amanda Sexton, Laura (Andrew Bergquist) Vickroy, Sarah Vickroy, and Noah Sexton and four great grandchildren; two brother-in-laws, one sister in law, aunts, uncles, and many cousins.

Growing up, he was known as Junior to his family and friends. He also had a few nicknames given to him by his grandson: Big Boy, Smartie, and Grimpee. He loved his family with all his heart. He was a man of strong Christian faith. He always had strong work ethic, enjoyed gardening and yard work, and loved to be outside. He also enjoyed telling jokes and playing pranks.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Moreland Funeral Home with services following at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Blendon Central Cemetery.
