A celebration of life will be held this summer
David "Wolfie" Charles Wolfrom, age 70, of Westerville, Ohio passed away peacefully on October 17, 2023 after a 5 year battle with PSP/Parkinsonism. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 27, 1953, the son of Charles "Bud" and Sue Wolfrom. He's survived by his wife of 40 years, Maureen "Molly" (McQuade) Wolfrom; his children, Heidi (Scott) Winkler and Amy (Evan) Burghes; his grandchildren, Audrey Winkler, Blake and Austin Burghes, and Hazel, their basset hound. He was the second oldest of 4 children and is survived by John, Scott (Gayle), and Bob (Elizabeth), numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many extended family members.
David graduated from (Thomas) Worthington High School in 1971 and went on to play football at Ohio University. After graduating from OU in 1975, he dedicated 35 years to the Westerville City School District. He began his tenure teaching social studies and later earned his masters at The Ohio State University to become a guidance counselor. He coached football, wrestling, and track, refereed volleyball, and organized the ski club, mock trial, and student council. He had a passion for mentoring and made it his mission to have an impact on every student's education.
After retiring in 2011, he could be spotted shanking balls on the golf course, putting in miles on the elliptical at the Westerville rec center, catching a Bengals game, or turning the basement into "David's House of Rock". Wherever he was he always had a smile on his face, and anyone he met walked away a friend. He will be missed by many.
A celebration of life will be held this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the David Wolfrom Memorial Scholarship payable to Westerville City Schools. Attn. Treasury Office 936 Eastwind Dr., Westerville, OH 43081

David, you are a great brother who helped so many individuals in many ways. It is comforting to know that you can share more time with Mom, Dad, Momo and others who were lucky enough to love and know you. We had so many fun times and we leaned on each other when needed. We cherish the many memories of family gatherings and watching the Wolfie family grow. You are so blessed to have Molly, Heidi and Amy and your Bassett buddies. Love you always. -John, Bob & Scott-

Molly, Heidi and Amy - My heart breaks for you. Way too soon! I have so so many memories of our court gatherings (driveways, 4th of July and NYE). David was always front and center making everyone laugh and feel welcomed with his gentle and infectious personality - he was a one of a kind and I’m honored to have known him. May you all find peace in time knowing you will meet again.

Thinking of you Molly and family on the sad news of David’s passing. Lots of great memories over the years - especially the McQuades Hacker Classics where we attempted to play golf. Wolfie was quite a character himself and we will never forget all the laughs and quips he provided.

Pat and I are so sorry and will miss Wolfie. He truly was one of a kind. Always so easy going and fun to be around. If Wolfie was there, it was going to be a fun party! We loved him at Walnut and were happy our daughter Danielle got to work with him at Genoa. We’ve always had the bassethound connection. Prayers to Molly and his girls.

I taught at Walnut Springs when Wolfie was a guidance counselor, and I’m deeply saddened to hear of his passing. I remember him as fun loving, easy going, dedicated, and having a great sense of humor. He made such a positive impact on me and other teachers and students at Walnut and I’m so glad to have known him.

Mr Wolfrom was the best. I was lucky to have him as a councilor at Walnut Springs and still kept in contact in Highschool. He was such a comfort for me when my mom passed away during my time at Walnut. RIH and my condolences to his family.

My best friend since the second grade. My best man at my wedding. The memory of the many "adventures" we vowed to keep to ourselves. I love you and you will be in my heart forever.
