Darrel R. Staten, 71, born in Union Furnace, OH November 22, 1941, passed away at home Sunday October 13, 2013 with his family by his side. Preceded in death by parents and brother Donald Staten. Survived by loving wife of 52 years Nancy Staten and children Keith (Sandra) Staten, Julie (Brad) Cantrell, Jeff Staten and Amy (Bob) Parsons; beloved grandchildren, Brandi Parsons, Bradley Cantrell and Madison Staten along with many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME 55 East Schrock Road Westerville, 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday where service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 19, 2013. Private interment.

I was so sorry to hear about Darrel. My heart is broken for Nancy and the family. Darrel was one of the nicest, funniest, sweetest persons I’ve ever known. I’ll see you in heaven Darrel and you will always be in my heart. <3

Was so sorry to read of the passing of Darrel, he was a true Christian and loved life–will always remember his sense of humor and love for his family and friends–it is always hard to suffer a loss of a loved one, but have precious memories to help keep our hearts a little less heavy–will be praying for all of you.

Dad may be gone in body but his heart will always be with us! I believe he is looking down on us now and telling us all that the next few days coming will be very hard but we are all very strong and know that he is here with us! I love you all so very much !
