BELDING
Darlene Marie Belding (Sass) of Charlotte, NC passed away peacefully in her families loving arms on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC.
Darlene was born on July 5, 1948 in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated from Newbury High School in 1966. She is the daughter of the late Nicolas and Helen Sass from Newbury, Ohio. Dar, as she was affectionately known, enjoyed trips to the beach, listening to music, bargain hunting with her friends and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her three children, Richard Belding and his wife Molli of Westerville, Ohio; Danielle Belding-Smith of Charlotte, North Carolina; and Robert Belding of Columbus, Ohio and is also survived by her brother John Sass and his wife Kim of Newbury, Ohio and sister Karen Vogle and her husband Don of Geneva, Ohio. Darlene had the joy of 5 nephews and a special bond with her six grandchildren: Brooke, Mason, Elena, Chase & Coleton Belding of Westerville, Ohio and Sophia Smith of Charlotte, NC. The family would like to express their gratitude & special thanks to Amy Gulla of Charlotte, NC for her love, devotion and support during this difficult time.
Darlene spent her career in the insurance industry making lifetime friendships. Her 30-year career spanned several companies including CoreSource, Ohio Bankers League, UniCare and Mercer Consulting.
For those in North Carolina friends will be received on Tuesday May 17, 2011 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. and 5:00-8:00 p.m. with prayer at 7:00 p.m. at Raymer Funeral Home, 16901 Old Statesville Road, Huntersville, NC 28070. A Catholic service to celebrate the life of Darlene will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at St. Mark Catholic Church, 14740 Stumptown Road, Huntersville, NC 28078.
For those in Ohio friends will be received on Tuesday May 24, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at MORELAND FUNERAL HOME 55 East Schrock Road, Westerville, Ohio 43081.
